Last week in Year 4, the children put on their performance of ‘Pirates versus Mermaids’.  They were amazing.  They all knew their words and sang beautifully.  We were so proud of them all!

This week in Maths, the children have been partitioning, ordering and comparing decimal numbers using place value counters.  In Dance, the children had to work in small groups to choregraph a short dance routine and perform it to the rest of the class.  They included lifts and moves that they had learnt in previous weeks.

This week, we started our new DT unit designing and making a mini greenhouse.  They learnt about how greenhouses are used to grow plants and the conditions that are needed for healthy plant growth. They investigated frame structures and the different techniques that can be used to make them stronger, stiffer, and more stable. The children learnt how designers use isometric drawing techniques to draw 3D objects and attempted to draw their own 3D shapes on isometric paper.  They are looking forward to making their own mini greenhouse using different techniques to join the wood together.

Y4 also participated in the Windsor Schools' Summer Games Festival where they played golf, badminton, swing ball and many other games. They all had a fun time!
