Year 1 have had a super busy week of learning. 

We have been getting to use logging on and using PurpleMash on the computers. We have enjoyed exploring PurpleMash and playing some games. 

After lunch we have been reading some books from our reading corner and enjoying stories together as a class. 

We really enjoyed building homes out of junk modelling last week and created a paper home with our family on it for our lovely classroom display. We also talked about jobs in our local area and thought about what job we would like to do when we grow up. 

In Maths we have been counting backwards and finding 1 less. We enjoyed making our own rockets and practicing counting backwards. 

Our Science learning this half term is all about the seasons. We looked at each seasons daylight hours and made a pictogram so we could find out which season had the longest and the short daylight hours. 

In PE we have been focusing on our gymnastic skills. This week we were practicing a straight jump, star jump and tuck jump. We worked with a partner to help each other. We finished our PE lesson with some cosmo kids yoga. 

This week in Art we were making a continuous  spiral line using the oil pastels.
