Year 3 have had a wonderful week of learning.
In Maths, the children have been learning to add and subtract across 10s and 100s using number lines to bridge across. We have now begun to use a different written method which we enjoy more as it partitions the ones, tens and hundreds into their individual columns.
In English, we have designed a trap to capture the Iron man who has been causing havoc in the town. The children have been looking at examples of explanation texts, the language they use and their structure so they can write an explanation of their trap to help save the town and help them be free of the Iron man for good!
Patterns in nature have inspired us to look closely at the way they are made. The children noticed the patterns come in lines, symmetry or repeating patterns which we copied into our Art books for future reference so we can create our own patterns.
As we approach Christmas, our RE unit asks the question: Has Christmas lost its true meaning? This week the children discussed some of their family traditions and what Christmas means to them.
In Science, we have started to look at different forces that are around and work in our everyday life. So far, we have discovered push, pulls and twist forces are very common, and we are looking forward to learning more about these over the next few weeks.
Please enjoy looking at the photos of all are hard work and what we have learnt so f
