We have had a busy time in Year 4 over the last couple of weeks. Some of our Sports Leaders went off to Stovell for Sports Leader training, while some children completed their bikeability Level 1.
In Science, we have been looking at digestion and teeth. The children enjoyed learning about the journey food takes through our bodies and the different organs that support this process. We have also been finding out about the different teeth we have and their different functions. The children really enjoyed making a full set of teeth out of salt dough. The children have set up an experiment to see what effect different liquids have on our teeth – using eggs to represent the enamel on our teeth. They are looking forward to observing what happens to the egg shells over the next couple of weeks.
In RE, we have been reading and retelling the story of Moses, while in Maths we have been making number lines and estimating where different numbers would go on the number line.
In Art, we studied the work of the artist Claude Monet and learnt all out about his style of painting. Using pastels, we made our own version of his painting ‘Water Lilies and Japanese Bridge’.
