Year 1 have had another super week of learning.
We have enjoyed playing some phonic games like 'roll and read' to help learn our sounds and words. Year 1 have really enjoyed completing some word searches and have impressed me with how quickly they can find the words!
This week in Maths we have been focusing on our number bonds to 10. We used tens frames and counters to make number bonds to 10. We also used a rainbow template to help us remember all of our number bonds to 10.
As part of our RE topic we have looked at the Christmas story, focusing on the 3 Kings in particular and the gifts they gave to Jesus. We created some amazing artwork that has gone up on our display.
In English we have been looking at poetry and created our own autumn poems. We tried hard to use adjectives.
We are going to be creating celebration cards in DT and have worked on making a linear movement using paper and a lolly stick. We created a puppet theatre and enjoyed moving the jester up and down.
We are really enjoying our Nativity songs and have done a wonderful job of learning them. Year 1 have really impressed us! We can't wait to go to the Church next week and start practicing.
