Year 1 have been very busy this week and have done some super learning.
In Art we have been drawing self portraits. This week we drew a portrait of a friend, looking carefully at their facial features.
Our topic in Science is materials. This week we were testing different materials to see if they stretch. We were using the words elasticity and plasticity.
In Maths we are comparing numbers to 20. We have been using the language of 'greater than' 'less than' and 'equal to.' We also have been using the symbols for greater than and less than. We enjoyed working as a class to make the symbols with our arms.
We became storywriters in English and wrote our own adventure stories that included two animals as the main characters.
In History we have been looking at significant people from the past. This week we learnt all about Neil Armstrong and his mission to the Moon.
What a busy week of learning! Please look at the slideshow pictures below to see our super learning.
