We have had a busy but great week in Year 2.
In English, we have really enjoyed exploring the Michael Rosen Poem ‘Don’t’. The children explored the patterns in the poem and worked as a pair to perform it to the class. We have now started to write some of our own rhyming sentences based on this poem.
In RE, we have listened to the Easter story and worked very hard to re-tell the main parts of it. Next week, we are going to look at what happened after Jesus was placed in the tomb and why Christians might believe that Jesus came back to life.
Finally, we have had a special visitor this week. Florence Nightingale came to see us and she told us more about her life and work as a nurse. We helped her to clean up the hospital at Scutari by chasing all the rats away and helping to bandage up the injured soldiers!
